You are probably thinking that I am a crazy cat lady and that all I care about is cats. Well I do care about other stuff like life and books. My favorite book is the 4th Harry Potter book. If you don't read Harry Potter you need to. If you read Harry Potter then I am probably the only person you know that there favorite character is Professor Serverus Snape. My top 6 Harry Potter characters are: 1. Professor Snape 2. Lucius Malfoy 3. Bellatrix Lestrange 4. Draco Malfoy 5. Dobby 6. Voldemort. Yes, I do like Voldemort. My disliked top 3 characters are: 1. Ron Weasley 2. Harry Potter 3. Hermione Granger. Yes, I do dislike the main characters. I love Professor Snape. He is like the best character. I know what you're thinking, Snape killed Dumbledore! Well, yeah he did but Dumbledore told him to. I'm pretty sure Snape never would have killed Dumbledore if Dumbledore hadn't asked him to. If you are obsessed with Harry Potter as much as I am you have probably figured out all that elder wand mess. Here is what I got out of it. Dumbledore was in possession of the elder wand. The elder wand can only be obtained by killing and disarming the former owner. If this is the case then Snape would be master of the elder wand but think about it, Draco Malfoy was meant to kill Dumbledore plus he was the one that disarmed Dumbledore of the elder wand in the first place so making Draco Malfoy master of the elder wand. Voldemort overlooked this and thought since Snape killed Dumbledore, Snape must me the master of the elder wand so Voldemort in order to obtain control of the elder wand thought Snape must die. You must know how I felt because my favorite character died because Voldemort was killing him for no reason! So, it's kind of surprising when it turns out Voldemort is still in my top 5 favorite but I kind of have to like Voldemort because I'm a Death Eater or I would be if Wizards existed. (but of course they do.) Back to the elder wand, since Draco Malfoy had possession of the elder wand, Voldemort technically didn't have control of the elder wand but do you know who had control of the elder wand when Harry and Voldemort dueled to decide the basic future of all the wizarding world! None other than Harry himself, how? because Draco Malfoy was in possession of the elder wand but he didn't have the elder wand literally just figuratively. So when Harry gets captured by the Malfoys and Bellatrix Lestrange. Harry disarms Draco of his wand (not the elder wand) and escapes with it. Since that happens being disarmed made Draco not master of the elder wand but Harry master of the elder wand!
Out of all the Harry Potter characters, I would say that Professor Snape is my favorite character. I would think most people would like the main characters rather than Snape because they are the main characters. I don't even like the main characters for the very reason that they don't change much through the book. I guess they do a bit but Snape is such a important character in the book. If Snape wasn't in the book I don't think the book would have had the same outcome. I mean the very reason why Voldemort killed Snape was because he thought Snape was master of the elder wand. So if Snape didn't exist and wasn't killed then maybe Voldemort would have been able to become master of the elder wand and defeat Harry.
I have to say that JK Rowling did an amazing job with making the character Snape.
Many people may ask why didn't Harry die when Voldemort killed him before the final duel. It doesn't come out and say, that Harry is the master of death in the movies like it does in the book. I am mostly writing all this stuff for the people that only watch the movies because the books are a LOT better. If you don't know why Harry is the master of death then you haven't been paying attention. Harry is the master of death because he was in possession of all three deathly hollows: 1. elder wand 2. resurrection stone 3. cloak of invisibility. Harry owned the cloak of invisibility from the start. The stone was not received till, "I open at the close." If you don't get that then I'll explain it later. You already know how Harry got the elder wand so when Voldemort tried killing him the first time he failed, the second time Harry was master of death and could not be killed, the third is the final duel. No horcruxes were left and it was just Harry and Voldemort. Both lunged forth there greatest spells and so forth they collided leaving only one the victor!..... Harry won it's obvious. I wish Voldemort had of though.
If you want to know what "I open at the close" means then listen in. You know how there is the resurrection stone. Well, the stone was in a snitch that said on it "I open at the close." It makes no sense till the time being. The snitch was obtained by Harry in Dumbledore's will after he died. When it came being Harry knew he had to die because some of Voldemort still lies within Harry. So the reason Harry lived to finish the final duel is because of the deathly hollows. Harry had two but not the third. He had the snitch though so he whispered to it, ¨I am going to die.¨ When he did so the snitch opened reveling the stone and making Harry master of death. The reason, "I open at the close" is the same as I open at the end witch the end is death............
I have talked about Snape, my favorite character so now I'll talk about my second favorite character, Lucius Malfoy. He may seem like a twisted and evil character and to be honest he is but I still like him. He and his wife loved their son Draco a lot. When Harry goes to Voldemort to stop the fighting between the death eaters and the wizarding world Voldemort tries to kill him. He doesn't kill him though because Harry is master of Death but Voldemort didn't know that. Voldemort does ask Narcissa Malfoy to go see if Harry is dead though. When she goes over there she whispers to Harry, "Is Draco alive?" Harry says yes and then Narcissa tells Voldemort that Harry is dead although he isn't. When the final battle happens between the wizards and death walkers, Lucius, Narcissa and Draco all leave the battlefield and desert Voldemort. So in the end all the Malfoys cared about was each other. I just think that's sweet. I suppose if you want to look at it in a darker way you could say that they deserted Voldemort and Voldemort was the reason they were death eaters and death eaters believe in following Voldemort. So the Malfoys gave up everything including what they thought they believed in for each other. So now they have to rebuild on the grounds of what they thought they believed in too find what they should believe in.
Have you ever thought you were destined for one thing but then all that changes and now your choices could decide the fate of the universe. Yeah that would be something of a nightmare for some or a dream for others. I would think that would be amazing but at the same time very stressful. I think Harry might have thought the same. Harry was just a normal kid until he gets a letter that changes everything. I mean if I got that kind of a chance to go to a wizarding school, I would take it no matter what my mom said. I think Harry just wanted to get away from the Dudley's. Which, the Dudley's were terrible to Harry so I cant say I blame him. Harry of course didn't find out about the ¨fate of the universe¨ part till later. I would think that would be the first thing I would want to know before entering the wizarding school. Even if Harry had of said no he probable would have to fight Voldemort anyway (wizard or not) because Voldemort would still want to kill him. Then again if Harry didn't go to Hogwarts in the first place maybe he wouldn't have been their in his 4th year and the 4th year is when Voldemort returns and he only returns because Harry was there to be captured and used to bring him back. Mind Blown! Then again if Harry wasn't there Peter still might have found Harry and he would just be more defenseless. Then again if Harry didn't go to Hogwarts he wouldn't have been in his 3rd year when they found Peter Petegrew and if Peter wasn't found then maybe Voldemort wouldn't have returned! Mind Blown! and I´m pretty sure I can't back fire that claim. Oh, wait scratch that yeah I can because if Peter didn't help Voldemort, Barney Crouch Jr. could have done it. So in conclusion, there was no way to stop Voldemort from returning.
Alright, so I've talked about most of the main themes and some of my favorite characters, so lets talk about Dobby next. Dobby is a house elf that previously served the Malfoys. It the second book Dobby is freed of his work by Harry Potter. Harry slips a sock into a book that Lucius gives to Dobby. It is said that when the house elf's master gives him clothes, he is free and can do as he please. Dobby was kind of a hero too. He goes to rescue Harry, Ron, and Hermione from the house of the Malfoys where there being held captive. A few other death eaters are there too but when Dobby teleports, Bellatrix throws a knife through the teleportation and the knife kills Dobby. It goes to show Dobby would sacrifice everything for Harry Potter. Before they teleport Dobby takes Narcissa's wand and then Bellatrix yells, "How dare you take your masters wand!", or something like that and then Dobby says, " Dobby has no master, Dobby is a free elf!" I just think that is so touching for Dobby to have said that right before he died. Dobby has a really high pitched voice and I like to talk like him sometimes.
